In the PSA nitrogen generator system, both the oil in the air compressor and the water in the air will cause pollution to the molecular sieve. In severe cases, the machine can only be shut down and a batch of new molecular sieves need to be replaced.
To maintain the normal service life of the molecular sieve, the compressed air must be kept clean. The key to cleanliness is the filter in the nitrogen generation system. The commonly used PSA nitrogen generator filters have an electrostatically sprayed epoxy resin powder coating on the outer shell, which is corrosion-resistant and durable; the internal structure consists of fiber media, filters, and sponges, with strong filtering capacity and low pressure drop; it can effectively block solid and liquid particles (droplets) in the compressed air, prevent them from entering the nitrogen generation system tank, and deposit them on the surface (both inside and outside) of the filter element, then through the effect of gravity, they are deposited at the bottom of the filter and discharged by the automatic drain device or manually.
With the development of technology and market demand, the current filters are also equipped with a blockage indicator, which has the function of prompting timely replacement of the failed filter element; and the filter element is threaded, making maintenance and maintenance more convenient.
Although the filter can make the compressed air clean, it is not meant to be used indefinitely. Usually, it is required to replace it once every 8,000 hours to ensure that the normal service life of the air separation equipment is not affected to the greatest extent.
