Nitrogen, as an inert gas, is widely used in industries such as chemical engineering, electronics, food, and medicine. It is used to prevent oxidation, extend shelf life, and provide a protective atmosphere, among other things. The technical principles of nitrogen generators mainly include three types: pressure swing adsorption (PSA), membrane separation, and low-temperature distillation. Among them, PSA technology uses molecular sieves to adsorb oxygen and other impurities to achieve nitrogen separation, featuring low energy consumption and quick startup; membrane separation technology utilizes the difference in permeation rates of gases in membranes, suitable for small-scale production; low-temperature distillation separates nitrogen through air liquefaction and fractionation, capable of producing high-purity nitrogen, but the equipment is complex and energy consumption is high. 
From the perspective of application scenarios, the selection of nitrogen generators should be customized according to industry requirements. For instance, the food packaging industry typically needs nitrogen with a purity of over 99.5% to inhibit microbial growth; in the field of electronic semiconductor manufacturing, ultra-pure nitrogen with a purity of 99.999% is required to prevent chip oxidation; in the chemical industry, the focus may be on the production volume to meet the continuous production needs. Additionally, the operating cost of the nitrogen generator is also a key factor, including energy consumption, maintenance frequency, and the lifespan of the molecular sieve. PSA nitrogen generators, due to their simple structure and convenient maintenance, have become the mainstream choice for small and medium-sized enterprises; while the cryogenic nitrogen generators, although having a higher initial investment, have lower long-term operating costs and are suitable for large-scale production. 
In terms of industry standards, the performance of the nitrogen generator must comply with national standards such as GB/T 8979-2008 "Pure Nitrogen, High-Purity Nitrogen and Ultra-Pure Nitrogen", ensuring that the nitrogen purity, moisture content and oil content meet the requirements. The safety of the equipment is also crucial, and it should be equipped with pressure protection, leakage detection and automatic shutdown functions to prevent accidents caused by improper operation. When purchasing, users also need to pay attention to the technical support capabilities of the supplier, including installation and commissioning, operation training and spare parts supply, in order to reduce the risks of later operation and maintenance. 
Maintenance and operation precautions include: Regularly inspect the status of the molecular sieve to prevent the adsorbent from failing; Keep the equipment clean to prevent dust from entering the gas path; Monitor pressure and temperature parameters to ensure operation within the rated range. For cryogenic nitrogen generators, special attention should be paid to the safety of liquid nitrogen storage and transportation to avoid frostbite and leakage risks.
