I. Purpose and scope of use

Nitrogen is widely used in food, medicine, electronics, chemical industry, petroleum, metallurgy, machinery manufacturing and other industries. Air separation nitrogen equipment can provide the nitrogen required by various equipments in these industries. Such as metal sintering, 3D printing, laser punching, food gas preservation and nitrogen-filled packaging, the electronics industry to produce semiconductor device protection gas and other sectors that need nitrogen.

II. Principle of operation and structure

This Pressure Swing Adsorption Nitrogen Generator (hereinafter referred to as "Nitrogen Generator") is a kind of equipment that utilizes Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology to separate high purity nitrogen from air.

Working Principle:

The main components of air are nitrogen (about 78%) and oxygen (about 21%). PSA nitrogen generator realizes the separation of nitrogen and oxygen by taking advantage of the significant difference in the adsorption capacity of specific adsorbent (usually carbon molecular sieve CMS) for oxygen and nitrogen under different pressures.

  1. Pressurized adsorption: compressed air enters the adsorption tower under a certain pressure, oxygen molecules are preferentially adsorbed by the carbon molecular sieve, while nitrogen passes through the adsorption tower to become product nitrogen.
  2. Decompression desorption: when the adsorbent in the adsorption tower adsorbs oxygen to a certain extent, the adsorbent is regenerated by lowering the pressure in the tower (or pumping a vacuum), so that the adsorbed oxygen is desorbed from the adsorbent and the adsorbent can be regenerated to prepare for the next adsorption.
  3. Usually adopts double or multi-tower structure, so that the adsorption and regeneration processes are carried out alternately, thus realizing continuous and stable output of nitrogen.
4. Main components of the equipment

(Depending on the equipment configuration, the composition may vary slightly)

4.1,Air pre-treatment system:
  • Pre-filter: removes oil mist, water and large particles of impurities from compressed air.
  • precision filter: further removes tiny particles and trace oil.
  • Refrigerated / adsorption dryers: deep removal of moisture from compressed air.
4.2,PSA Nitrogen Host:
  • adsorption tower (tower A, tower B): carbon molecular sieve inside, the core separation component.
  • Pneumatic valve manifold: Controls airflow direction and adsorption/regeneration switching.
  • program controller (PLC): controls the timing and logic of the entire adsorption/regeneration cycle process.
  • Oxygen Meter/Nitrogen Analyzer: Online monitoring of product nitrogen purity.
  • flow meter: indicates nitrogen flow.
  • Pressure Gauge: Indicates the pressure of each stage.
  • Nitrogen buffer tank: stores product nitrogen, stabilizes nitrogen pressure and flow.
  • control system: including touch screen, buttons, indicators, etc. for equipment operation and status monitoring.
